Located in Aridagawa, Wakayama Prefecture, Arita Resol Golf Club is a 18-hole championship course designed by Choei Miyazawa. The course spans 7,086 yards from the Champion tees, with a Course Rating of 73.5 and a Slope Rating of 132. It is set within the dramatic landscape of the Kii Mountains, featuring a layout where most holes offer visibility from the tee to the green. The terrain is characterized by calculated undulations and strategic water hazards, including creeks and ponds that challenge players throughout the round. The course is divided into Blue and Red courses, offering varying yardages and difficulties. The Blue Course, the primary championship layout, features a Par 72 configuration with tees ranging from 395 yards for regular play to 443 yards for the Champion set. The Red Course provides a Par 72 alternative with a total length of 6,249 yards from the Regular tees. Both layouts incorporate doglegs, downhill and uphill shots, and bunkers that demand precise shot placement. The signature hole is the 7th, a Par 4 that serves as the course's most memorable challenge. This hole features a double fairway split by a wide creek that runs diagonally across the landing area. Players must choose between a safe route to the left fairway for a three-shot approach or an aggressive line to the right for a two-shot attempt. The green is elevated and segmented, requiring careful distance control and strategy based on pin placement. The course is known for its "Dramatic Golf" concept, emphasizing the mental and physical test of navigating its strategic design. The setting includes a clubhouse situated in a green, hilly area, and practice facilities that include a 200-yard driving range and dedicated areas for approach and bunker play. The course has been open since September 10, 1994, and continues to be a prominent venue in the Wakayama region for both members and visitors.
