Located in Kinokawa, Wakayama, Kinokuni Country Club is an 18-hole course designed by Masami Fumizawa and opened in October 1973. The layout is characterized by its flat, rolling terrain that is described as reminiscent of a Japanese garden. The course is classified as a hilly type and features Corai grass greens. The total yardage from the back tees is 6,341 yards, with a course rating of 70.6. The course is divided into an Out and an In nine, both playing to a par of 36. The Out nine includes a mix of par 4s and 5s, highlighted by the long 526-yard 5th hole and the short 135-yard 6th. The In nine presents its own challenges, featuring the course's longest hole, the 545-yard 11th, and the shortest, the 160-yard 13th. The layout requires strategic shot-making, with specific holes designated as recommended for distance drivers or approach shots. Significant changes were made to the original layout, where the In nine (formerly the Middle Course) was reconfigured with two new holes. This renovation aimed to utilize the traditional Japanese aesthetic and the basin-like topography of the land, creating a course that demands precision and distance management. The facility includes a restaurant, locker rooms, and a competition room, catering to both casual play and organized events.
