Located in Nagaizumi, Shizuoka Prefecture, Fuji Ace Golf Club is a 18-hole, par-72 course set on a sprawling 1,300,000 square meter (approximately 400,000 tsubo) site. Designed and constructed by Taikisha, the layout is characterized by wide, flat fairways and minimal blind shots, offering a spacious playing environment. The course is nestled within the foothills of Mount Aikawa and offers views of the Suruga Bay, with a layout that incorporates seasonal flowers and sculptures throughout the grounds. The club opened on July 21, 1977, under the management of Kabushiki Kaisha BoaVista. The course yardage varies by tee, with the back tees extending to 6,600 yards. The front nine totals 3,324 yards, featuring a mix of mid-length holes and strategic challenges. The back nine adds 3,363 yards, including two significant par-5s and a short par-3 that tests precision over a valley. The design emphasizes accuracy off the tee, with many holes requiring players to navigate around trees or avoid OB lines that border the fairways. A defining feature of the course is the consistent green slope, which runs from Mount Fuji toward the Suruga Bay. This uniform direction affects putting on every hole, requiring players to read the speed and break carefully. The 6th hole, a par-3, is noted for its beauty and the steep slope of the green, while the 13th hole, a short par-3 over a valley, demands precise distance control to avoid the OB line on the left. The 17th hole, a par-5, features a dogleg right and a tee shot that must clear a narrow gap, leading to a par-3 green that plays uphill. The 14th hole on the front nine is a par-3 that plays over a valley, with a hidden pond lurking in front of the green that is not visible from the tee. The 11th hole, a par-4, is considered the most difficult hole on the course, with an OB line close to the green making a conservative approach essential. The 18th hole finishes with a left-angle dogleg, requiring a precise drive to set up an approach to the green. The course is known for its relatively gentle terrain, with most holes having minimal elevation changes, making it accessible for players of various skill levels while still offering strategic depth through its green complexes and hazard placement.
