Florence Country Club was founded in 1924 and features an 18-hole course built in the "Donald Ross" style, using the natural contours of a small 77-acre site. The course features 6,429 yards of golf from the longest tees for a par of 71, with a course rating of 71.7 and a slope rating of 129 on Bermuda grass. Fairways are framed by majestic oaks and towering pines, paired with dramatic elevation changes, creating a layout that is both visually striking and strategic. The toughest hole is #3, a 419-yard, par 4, with a dogleg right fairway and narrow fairways bordered by thick lines of mature pine trees.
The course has hosted two USGA events: the Girls' Junior Championships in 1955 and the Junior Amateur Championship in 1963. The club has hosted numerous SCGA, WSCGA, and CGA events. In 2020, the club introduced an indoor teaching center equipped with advanced technology and a junior locker room.
