Fircrest Golf Club was established in 1923 and was designed by Arthur Vernon Macan on 165 acres of wooded and rolling terrain. The course remains largely unchanged from its original design, preserving Macan's signature Scottish-tradition layout that emphasizes the natural movements of the existing land. The undulating terrain and multi-tiered greens, innovative features in 1923, continue to present a challenging test for golfers of all skill levels. The course is renowned for its variability, playing differently day to day and demanding golfers use their complete skill set. Fircrest is considered one of the nation's sportiest layouts, with the saying that "if you play well at Fircrest, you could play anywhere" reflecting its demanding reputation. The club has hosted numerous professional players who have won nearly 100 major championships combined. Ranked #4 by Golf Magazine among Washington State's best courses, Fircrest serves as a model private club with active women's and junior programs alongside its consistent membership base.
