Fall Creek Falls Golf Course is an 18-hole championship golf course designed by renowned golf course architect Joe Lee. The course opened in 1972. Located within Fall Creek Falls State Park on the rugged Cumberland Plateau, the course spans more than 20,000 acres of scenic outdoor recreation area. The course spans from 4,417 yards at the red tees to 6,669 yards at the blue tees and has a par of 71. The course is carved out of densely forested woodlands and features rolling hills, with what it lacks in water hazards made up for in trees and sand traps. There are 71 bunkers positioned throughout the course.
The course has been a three-time selection by Golf Digest as one of the Top 100 Public Places to Play. With almost no parallel holes it provides an experience in the great outdoors with wildlife sightings at every turn. The signature hole is Number 15, a long, challenging par 4 that plays 414 yards from the white tees, requiring a long drive to reach the corner of the dogleg left before hitting a mid to long iron into a green protected by two bunkers on the left and one large bunker on the right. In 1998, the greens were rebuilt and restored to Joe Lee's original plans and the drainage on all 71 bunkers was also improved. The course has been designated a Certified Audubon Cooperative Sanctuary, an honor received by only a handful of courses in Tennessee.
