Bear Trace

Bear Trace at Harrison Bay is an 18-hole, par-72 championship course designed by Jack Nicklaus, located approximately 20 minutes north of downtown Chattanooga in Harrison, Tennessee. The course is situated on heavily-wooded terrain surrounded by water, featuring Champion Bermuda greens and 419 Bermuda fairways lined with soaring pine and hardwood trees. Water touches 12 fairways, though the layout provides ample room for safe play. Most greens are open in front, accommodating players of varying skill levels and allowing run-up shot options. Fairway and greenside bunkers follow traditional Nicklaus design principles and contribute to the course's overall character and integrity. The course emphasizes playability throughout its design. Five tee boxes accommodate different skill levels, with yardages ranging from 5,292 to 7,111 yards. On-site amenities include a driving range, practice green, snack bar, and club rentals, with lessons available from PGA professionals.
