El Pinar is a par-3 golf course located in El Calafate, Patagonia, Argentina, situated just 45 meters from the Posada Los Álamos hotel reception. Opened on December 13, 1997, it is the only golf facility in the town and is sponsored by Roberto De Vicenzo. The course is situated at 50 degrees south latitude and 72 degrees west longitude, offering views of the Andes mountain range, including the Castillo and El Calafate hills. The layout incorporates environmentally protected areas of steppe with autochthonous vegetation. The 18-hole layout is designed as a unique challenge, with hole distances ranging from 70 to 250 yards, making it the longest possible par-3 configuration. Greens vary in size from 100 to 200 square meters. The course demands that players utilize most of their clubs, particularly on windy days, and features varying difficulty levels across its 18 holes. In addition to the main course, there is a nine-hole putting green and a practice area for two players. Play is seasonal, operating from October 1 to May 15, with potential extensions depending on weather conditions. The course is designed to be a complex tour for golfers of any handicap, evolving in design and quality since its inception.
