Located in Punta Arenas within the Magallanes region, the Magallanes Golf Club operates as the southernmost golf facility in Chile. The course is a par 70 layout featuring 10 distinct holes. To complete a full round, the course utilizes a double-loop system where eight of the ten holes are played twice, allowing members to complete 18 holes. The facility is situated in a landscape defined by cold and windy conditions, which the club notes significantly increase the difficulty and challenge of the course. The club traces its origins to 1917, though golf was played in the area by British residents as early as 1905 on a smaller six-hole course. The current 10-hole configuration was established in 2002 with the addition of the 11th hole, which is described as one of the more difficult par 4s in the country. A significant structural change occurred in 2023 when the board approved a new routing designed to optimize distances between greens and tees. The course is maintained by professional staff and is open year-round, subject to weather conditions. The Magallanes Golf Club is affiliated with the Chilean Golf Federation and organizes the Abiertos de Magallanes annually as part of the national fixture. It also hosts the Patagonia Classic, a tournament that has seen record scores set by players such as Benjamín Saiz. The club maintains a long-standing rivalry and cooperation with the Club Naval de Campo Río de los Ciervos, with whom it has operated under a specific agreement since 1993.
