East Cork Golf Club was founded in 1968 on a converted dairy farm in Midleton, County Cork, Ireland. The course was designed by Eddie Hackett, one of Ireland's foremost golf course architects, and officially opened in November 1969. Originally laid out as a nine-hole course, it was extended to 18 holes in 1975. The parkland layout benefits from its setting on the outskirts of Midleton, bordered by two rivers, which create an attractive natural landscape. The course is characterized by its scenic riverine setting and challenging terrain typical of parkland design. A clubhouse extension was completed in 1992. East Cork Golf Club is noted for its legendary hospitality and courtesy to visitors and members alike. The club has a competitive history, including hosting successful teams in national competitions such as the 2022 All Ireland Jimmy Bruen competition.
