Belmont Golf Club is a scenic 9-hole par 36 course located in Downers Grove, Illinois, situated at the historic site of America's first 18-hole golf course. The course was originally designed by Charles Blair Macdonald, the grandfather of American golf, who created nine holes in 1892 and added nine more in 1893, establishing the nation's first 18-hole course at this location.
Today's layout features mature trees, natural areas, elevation changes, and water hazards that provide moderate challenge and visual interest. The course is complemented by comprehensive practice facilities, including a 24-station driving range with a 10-station covered shelter, a practice putting green, sand trap, and chipping area.
The course maintains its connection to golf history while serving as a public facility for the Downers Grove community. Its setting within a tree-lined landscape and the incorporation of natural water features create an engaging 9-hole experience for golfers of varying skill levels.
