Deerwood Country Club is an 18-hole golf course originally designed in 1960 by renowned architect George Cobb, located in Jacksonville, Florida. The course currently plays at 7,261 yards and is undergoing a major redesign beginning in late 2025, with completion expected in 2027. Architect Erik Larsen is directing the renovation, which will extend the course to 7,350 yards and incorporate bolder, more scenic design elements including risk/reward strategic play. A distinctive feature of the redesign will be a 20,000-square-foot double green on one hole, complemented by large white sand bunkers for dramatic visual impact. The renovation will make the course longer and more challenging. Additionally, a par-3 short course will open in mid-2026 before the main course renovation is completed. Deerwood hosted the Greater Jacksonville Open professional tournament during 1967-69 and 1973-76. The club offers comprehensive golf amenities including professional instruction, pro shop services, tournament opportunities, and flexible tee time availability for members.
