Designed by Jack Kidwell and open since 1982, Deer Creek State Park Golf Course is a 350-acre course diverse and exciting for golfers of all skill levels. The layout features four par 3s heavily guarded by water and trees, 10 lengthy par 4s, and four par 5s, with 7,119 yards and a par of 72. Kidwell, an Ohio native, utilized the scenic natural landscape of mature trees and native Ohio Bluegrass, and the course has gently rolling terrain but is still easy to walk.
Forty-six sand traps, 10 ponds and maturing trees flank the plush bluegrass fairways that lead up to undulating bent grass greens. It is a formidable test of shot-making and course management skills, with more than 50 strategically placed bunkers and ten ponds coming into play. The course is located in Mount Sterling, Ohio, within Deer Creek State Park, providing a pastoral setting for play. In addition to the course, Deer Creek State Park also offers a driving range, practice bunker, and chipping area.
