The original 18 holes were designed by Dan Maples and meander through valleys, hills, and woodlands, with nine additional holes added in 1991, creating the area's first 27-hole golf complex. Located 30 minutes from Gatlinburg, Pigeon Forge, or Sevierville, the course features views of the Great Smokey Mountains and Douglas Lake. The course offers lush Bermuda fairways and bent grass greens, with all combinations playing par-72 and measuring approximately 6,100 yards from the back tees, 5,800 yards from the regular tees, and 4,900 yards from the forward tees.

The course has developed a reputation as an enjoyable round of golf for both beginners and seasoned professionals. The Red and White Courses were designed with three par 3's, three par 4's and three par 5's each, built on rolling terrain with uneven lies and dog legs, and at least two water hazards come into play on each course. The course opened in 1980 and operates as a semi-private facility.
