Dallas Athletic Club is a private country club located in Dallas, Texas. Founded in 1919, the club relocated in 1954 to a 317-acre property near Mesquite, Texas, following freeway expansion in Dallas. The facility features two golf courses, the Blue Course and the Gold Course, both designed by Jack Nicklaus, who won the 1963 PGA Championship held at Dallas Athletic Club.
The Blue Course offers natural waterways, rolling hills, and a variety of trees, with Bentgrass greens and 419 Bermuda fairways, along with waterfalls and white sand and grass bunkers. The Gold Course stretches over 7,100 yards and plays to a par 72 with 419 Bermuda fairways and Bentgrass greens. Natural features, including eight lakes and many mature trees, are combined with modern design techniques. Notable scenic features on the Blue Course include waterfalls around the fifth and eleventh greens and a stone bridge on number seven.
The Blue Course hosted the 1963 PGA Championship. Both courses have hosted multiple notable tournaments including the 1991 Texas Amateur Championship, 1993 Southern Juniors Championship, 1997 USGA Mid-Amateur Championship, 1998 AJGA Boys Championship, and the 2003 Texas Amateur Championship.
