Countryside Golf Club

Countryside Golf Club features two distinct 18-hole layouts in Mundelein, Illinois. The Prairie Course showcases a modern design with wide, well-manicured fairways and expansive, undulating greens set against a relatively flat topography. Tall prairie grasses frame many holes, penalizing errant tee shots. The Traditional Course offers a classic woodland setting, lined with mature oak, maple, elm, and spruce trees that demand precision off the tee. Its smaller greens feature front-to-back pitch, rewarding accurate approach play over distance.

Both courses present different challenges suited to various skill levels. The Prairie Course tests players with its open design and prairie hazards, while the Traditional Course emphasizes accuracy in tight, tree-lined corridors. An underpass beneath Hawley Street enhances safety and convenience by connecting the front and back sides of the Traditional layout. Paved cart paths accommodate year-round play while protecting turf quality. The facility operates under Lake County Forest Preserves management and accommodates tournaments, leagues, and instructional programs.
