Consett & District Golf Club is an 18-hole mature parkland course established in 1911 and redesigned by renowned golf architect Harry Vardon. Located in the Derwent Valley on the Durham and Northumberland border, the course spans 100 acres of picturesque countryside. The layout measures 6,083 yards from the white tees, with 5,906 yards from yellow and 5,352 yards from red tees.
The course is characterised by tree-lined fairways and elevated plateau greens that provide an enjoyable yet challenging experience for golfers of all abilities. Strategic course management is essential, as apparently straightforward holes often conceal hazards and contours that can prove costly. The well-groomed condition and varied terrain create a moderately challenging test of golf. The club is known for its welcoming atmosphere and recently refurbished clubhouse offering exceptional bar and catering facilities. The setting provides panoramic views of the surrounding Derwent Valley, making it an attractive destination for both competitive play and leisure golf.
