Prudhoe Golf Club

Prudhoe Golf Club is an 18-hole parkland course established in 1930, located at Eastwood Park near the town of Prudhoe-on-Tyne in Northumberland, approximately ten miles west of Newcastle. The course plays to a par of 69 over 5,839 yards from the white tees, with a course rating of 68.9 and a slope rating of 123. No notable designer is recorded in the club's history. The club originally played on Colliery Farm land before moving to its current site in 1934 on land leased from the Duke of Northumberland.

Set in rolling Northumberland countryside, the course sits several hundred feet above the Tyne Valley and offers panoramic views across the surrounding landscape. The layout combines mature woodland and parkland characteristics, with tight tree-lined fairways, strategic bunkers, and greens widely regarded as among the best-maintained in the local area. The undulating terrain adds a physical and tactical dimension to the round, and some sections of the back nine involve significant elevation changes.

Despite its modest length, the course presents a genuine test of accuracy rather than power. The par-4 tenth hole, at 468 yards, is the stroke index one hole and among the most demanding on the card. The par-4 seventh is noted for playing alongside the River Tyne. The back nine also features a par-5 fourteenth of 547 yards, considered by many to be one of the stronger par fives in the region.
