Colorado Golf Club is an 18-hole championship course designed by Coore and Crenshaw, located in the Colorado high country with views of Mt. Blue Sky and surrounding peaks. The course is built across diverse landscapes, transitioning from forested hillsides to open meadowland, with elevation changes and natural features including Kinney Creek and the barranca.

The course features par fours, fives, and threes ranging from 153 to 582 yards, with strategic design principles emphasizing natural aesthetics and minimalist architecture. Notable characteristics include carefully contoured greens shaped by multiple craftsmen, natural hazards that appear organically formed, and holes that conceal or reveal landscape dramatically. Signature holes include the opening par five, which crests a ridge to reveal Mt. Blue Sky; the fourth hole, ranked among the toughest with its diagonal cross-bunker and strategic swale; the sixth, a long par three framed by an ancient Gambel oak; and the ninth, an "up-and-over" hole requiring shots blind to the green.

The design emphasizes strategic variety and shot-making over raw length, incorporating risk-reward elements and unpredictable bounces. Coore and Crenshaw drew inspiration from classic courses like Prairie Dunes and utilized site selection to minimize earthmoving while maximizing natural character.
