Located in Noda, Chiba Prefecture, the Chiba Country Club Umesato Course is an 18-hole championship layout designed by Koji Yasuda and opened in September 1960. The course spans 825,000 square meters and plays to a par 72 with a total length of 7,083 yards from the Champion tees. The greens are surfaced with Pen A-1, and the course features a range of tee boxes to accommodate different skill levels, including specific ratings for men and women. The Umesato Course has established a significant history in professional golf, hosting the Japanese Open Golf Championship in 1962 and again in 2014. It has also served as the venue for the HITACHI 3TOURS CHAMPIONSHIP in 2005, the Diamond Cup Golf in 2011, and the Panasonic Open Golf Championship in 2016 and 2017. These tournament appearances highlight the course's reputation for challenging conditions suitable for top-tier competition. Key characteristics of the layout include a demanding par-5 6th hole measuring 601 yards from the Champion tees, which is designated as the handicap 1 stroke hole. The back nine features the par-3 16th hole as the most difficult, rated at handicap 18, while the par-5 15th hole serves as the easiest at handicap 2. The course requires precise shot-making, with yardages ranging from a short 162-yard par-3 on the front nine to the lengthy 601-yard par-5, testing the endurance and accuracy of even the most skilled players.
