The 18-hole championship course at Cheraw State Park was designed by Tom Jackson and opened in 1992, featuring 6,928 yards of golf from the longest tees for a par of 72. The course rating is 73.4 and it has a slope rating of 130. The course winds its way through piney woodlands while maintaining and protecting the surrounding natural habitat of the park. With gentle sloping greens and generous landing areas on most of the par 4 and par 5 holes, Lake Juniper serves as a backdrop on several holes making a golf trip to Cheraw State Park a visual treat.

The Cheraw State Park golf course will remind the knowledgeable golfer of those classic golf courses designed and built in the early 1900s, with gentle sloping greens and generous landing areas on most of the par 4 and par 5 holes providing a true parkland setting. The Cheraw golf course is also a Certified Audubon International Wildlife Sanctuary. Throughout the year, Cheraw is hosting golf tournaments at the park.
