Cedar Pointe Golf Course

Cedar Pointe Golf Course is an 18-hole championship course located in Boone, Iowa. The front nine holes were designed in the early 1900s in classic style, making them believed to be among Iowa's oldest golf courses. The back nine features a more modern design added approximately 100 years later. The front nine emphasizes shot shaping, with mature trees lining each hole, two water hazards, and seven bunkers requiring accurate tee shots and strong short-game skills. The back nine presents a more open layout with younger trees (less than 15 years old), reducing tree trouble but introducing more bunkers, water hazards, and out-of-bounds areas. This combination creates a distinctive 18-hole experience that contrasts the strategic demands of classic design with the hazard-heavy challenges of modern layout. The course is situated in the heart of Boone and serves as a public championship facility.
