Located in Date City, Hokkaido, the Date Country Club is a 18-hole, par 72 golf course situated in the Ishikari Bay area. The layout is divided into an out course and an in course, each comprising nine holes. The course offers four sets of tees to accommodate different skill levels, with the back tees measuring 6,872 yards and the ladies' tees measuring 5,379 yards. The regular tees provide a total distance of 6,381 yards, while the front tees measure 5,846 yards. The course is characterized by its varied terrain and strategic challenges, including several holes that require precise shot placement. The first hole serves as the starting point, offering a view of Mount Komagatake across Ishikari Bay, but demands a careful tee shot to avoid out-of-bounds zones on the left. The layout features a mix of par 3s, 4s, and 5s, with notable challenges such as the second hole, which is a long par 5 requiring a carry over a retention pond, and the 17th hole, a short par 3 that requires players to clear a sand control dam. Significant water hazards and out-of-bounds areas define much of the course's difficulty. The 14th hole is a blind shot over a hill, while the 18th hole is a dramatic par 5 that finishes with a downhill tee shot toward Mount Komagatake. The course design incorporates natural features like pine trees and cherry blossoms, with specific holes requiring players to navigate around ponds, dams, and steep slopes. The out course totals 3,461 yards from the back tees, and the in course totals 3,411 yards, creating a balanced but demanding test for golfers.
