The Carlisle Barracks Golf Course was built in 1963 and is open to the public and measuring over 6368 yards. The course is 18 holes, par 71, with a 69.3 rating, designed by Col. Murphy. The course is fully irrigated with a normal golfing season from April through November and features a modern practice facility that includes a driving range, practice putting green and a green with a bunker.
The course is one of the finest in Cumberland Valley, located at Carlisle Barracks in Pennsylvania. Notable features include the opening hole at 576 yards, hole #3 which is a blind dogleg left with two sand traps on the left, hole #17 which doglegs left with a sand trap on the left, and hole #11 which features a large wrap-around greenside bunker. The course condition is above average for a public course with fairways and greens that support good scores.
The course measures over 6300 yards and offers amenities including a new clubhouse, pro shop, locker room, putting green, and bar/restaurant. The U.S. Army Morale, Welfare and Recreation manages this facility.
