Located in Cuernavaca, Morelos, the Club de Golf de Cuernavaca is a nine-hole course situated on 17 hectares of land. The layout is defined by an intricate slope that was originally cleared by soldiers under the direction of engineers Gustavo Durón González and Ángel García Lascurain. The course was designed by Juan N. Icaza and Ignacio de la Borbolla, and it is bounded by the ravines of San Francisco, Pollo, and San Antón. The total yardage for the nine holes is 2,639 yards, with a combined par of 35. The course features a mix of par-3, par-4, and par-5 holes that test various aspects of a golfer's game. The longest hole is the third, a par-5 stretching 460 yards, while the shortest is the fifth, a par-3 at just 111 yards. The par-4 holes range from 266 to 363 yards, providing a variety of distances and challenges across the 17-hectare property. The club also maintains a practice tee with four teeing positions and a dedicated putting green for skill refinement. Established on March 23, 1934, the club holds the distinction of being the first golf center in the state of Morelos. Its inauguration was presided over by General Plutarco Elías Calles, who raised the national flag to mark the occasion. The club has a rich history of ownership, having been managed by figures such as Ramón Llano and Virgilio Galindo, and later by the company Ingenieros Civiles Asociados (ICA). In 1984, Grupo Carso acquired the facility, maintaining its tradition of accessibility to both members and non-members. A significant part of the club's identity is its annual Easter Week Tournament, which began with the club's founding. This event has evolved over the decades, known as the Copa Challenge Inbursa from 1990 to 1999, the Copa Inbursa from 2000 to 2005, and the Copa Telmex from 2006 onward. The course is surrounded by unique tree species and diverse flora and fauna, which are carefully maintained to preserve the ecological balance of the area. The club also offers a restaurant, bar, and event hall, along with lodging facilities for weekend visits or special occasions.
