Clube Capixaba de Golfe
Course Information
Address:
Espírito Santo
Brazil
Located in Serra, Espírito Santo, the Clube Capixaba de Golfe is a nine-hole course that offers 18 tee shots, allowing for varied routing and play. The course is situated approximately 27 kilometers north of Vitória, near the coastal city of Serra, and is partially situated within the Parque Estadual do Mestre Álvaro. The layout is described as entirely natural, with a design that respects the challenges offered by the existing terrain rather than imposing artificial modifications. The setting is characterized by an exuberant natural landscape featuring centenarian trees, abundant birdlife, and mountainous views. The club is located just 15 kilometers from the coast and 50 kilometers from the mountains, providing a backdrop of dense vegetation and natural contours. The course design integrates these environmental features, creating a playing field that is deeply connected to the surrounding ecosystem. Founded in 1985 by a group of Japanese executives from Kawasaki Steel, the club was established as a private recreational facility that included golf, tennis, baseball, and swimming. The founders eventually donated the property with the stipulation that future owners maintain the space, and it has since been managed by golf enthusiasts who have preserved the original natural character of the land. The course is known for its challenging nature, which stems from its natural topography rather than artificial bunkers or water hazards. The difficulty is derived from the undulating terrain and the strategic placement of holes within the existing landscape. The club hosts regular competitions, including a ranking system and beginner tournaments, and has a history of annual Match Play champions dating back to its early years.
