Golfe Morro do Chapéu ☆ Follow

Located in Nova Lima, Minas Gerais, the Golfe Morro do Chapéu is an 18-hole course spanning more than 300,000 square meters of landscaped grounds. The layout features a total length of approximately 6,500 yards and includes water hazards and gardens integrated into the terrain. The course is equipped with a driving range and a dedicated practice area for training. The course was designed in Japan under the initiative of Sugihara, then president of Usiminas, and was donated to the condominium. Construction utilized modern machinery imported from England to shape the fairways and greens. The layout is measured and rated by the Brazilian Golf Confederation (CBG), providing precise slope and rating data for players. The facility hosts a variety of competitive events, including national and international tournaments. It has served as a venue for the World Corporate Golf Challenge and the Race to Aruba, which are prominent competitions within the Brazilian golf circuit. The club also organizes monthly internal competitions, such as a doubles match play tournament. A distinctive feature of the course is the "Buraco 19," a social area that serves as the primary gathering point for golfers after play. The club maintains a membership structure that includes affiliated clubs and hotels, supporting a community of players from various nationalities. The course operates daily, accommodating both serious competition and recreational play.
