Boiling Springs Golf Club is a 6,500-yard, par-71 course located in Woodward, Oklahoma, along the North Canadian River. Originally designed by Donald Sechrest and opened in 1979, the course sits on a unique sandbelt landscape deposited during the Pleistocene epoch, making it Oklahoma's only sandbelt golf experience.
The course is routed through 120 acres of dramatically undulating dunes with significant elevation changes created by the river's historical meanders. The terrain features native grasses, oak trees, black walnuts, elms, and mulberry trees, with panoramic vistas and abundant local wildlife throughout the property.
After decades of maintenance challenges and overgrowth of invasive vegetation that obscured the natural landscape, architect Jeff Blume oversaw a comprehensive renovation beginning in 2013. This restoration work included removing unwanted vegetation and completing greens and bunker renovations to restore the course to its sandbelt character.
The course presents a challenging layout with the natural dunes and elevation changes as defining characteristics. Located just 2.5 hours from Oklahoma City, Boiling Springs offers a distinctive golfing environment shaped by its unique geological setting and carefully restored design.
