The Blue Course is a Par 72, 7,228 yards from the Championship Tees. Designed by Ferdinand Garbin and James Harrison, the course was named the Blue Course. The Blue Course finished renovations in 2006, with three ponds added and the course lengthened over 640 yards. The front nine, par 36, measures 3696 yards off the New Nittany tees and provides a challenge demanding not only length but accuracy.
Twenty-seven strategically placed green side bunkers on the front nine challenge course management skills, while elevation changes and deceptively placed fairway and green side bunkers characterize the back nine. The finishing hole is a 492 yard, uphill slight dog leg right, that ranks among the toughest finishing holes in the area.
The Blue Course hosted the 2008 Big Ten Women's Championship, the 2009 Men's Big Ten Championship and the 2012 NCAA Women's Regional Tournament. The Blue Course annually hosts the Rutherford Intercollegiate and has hosted numerous events conducted by the USGA, FCWT, AJGA, IJGT, PGA Junior Series and the West Penn Golf Association.
