Blue Bell Country Club opened in 1994 and was designed by Arnold Palmer. Located on Route 202 in Whitpain Township, Montgomery County, the eighteen-hole course is the centerpiece of a residential community. The course features par 71 and plays to 6,920 yards, with six sets of tees catering to every skill level. The course offers a challenging layout with rolling hills, and demands good golf in spots while providing accessibility for higher handicaps.
Water hazards present challenges throughout, particularly on the 2nd hole, a 473-yard par-4 with a narrow fairway. Palmer identified the Fourth hole as his favorite on the course, noted as one of the more natural designs that lends itself to be played a number of ways from its width. The original Palmer design was modified to accommodate real estate, with homes at times very close to the course.
The club hosts a range of tournaments throughout the year including the Men's Member Guest, Superintendent's Revenge, and Nine & Dines. The facility features state-of-the-art practice areas including a driving range, short game target greens, and warm-up putting greens.
