Black Desert Golf Course in Ivins, Utah, is an 18-hole, par-72 championship course designed by Tom Weiskopf and architect Phil Smith, spanning 7,417 yards through striking black basalt lava fields. Located approximately 8 miles northwest of St. George, the resort is nestled amidst ancient lava fields and vibrant red rock landscapes, offering a unique desert setting. The layout features forgiving fairways, strategically placed landing areas, and two drivable par-4 holes (5th and 14th), providing both challenge and playability for golfers of all skill levels.

Opened in 2023, the public course is a stunning juxtaposition of wavy fairways chiseled out of fields of black lava rock. The course represents Tom Weiskopf's final masterpiece, with Hole 3 being particularly challenging—approximately 190 yards downhill featuring a bunker in the middle of the green. The par five 7th hole with "lava islands" peppered throughout the fairway stands as one of the most unique three-shotters.

The course has been ranked No. 1 in Utah and No. 32 among the Top 100 Best Courses You Can Play in the U.S. by Golfweek, and hosted the inaugural Black Desert Championship, bringing the PGA TOUR back to Utah for the first time in over 60 years. An LPGA event took place in 2025.
