Bintan Lagoon Golf Course, located in Lagoi Bintan, Indonesia, is a golf destination established in 1998 and designed by Gary Player. The facility features two distinct courses: an 18-hole Ocean Course and a 9-hole Forest Course. Both courses utilize Bermuda Tifdwarf grass for their greens.
The Ocean Course plays to a par of 72, stretching 6,470 meters from the Black Tees with a Course/Slope rating of 74.9/131. Set against the backdrop of the South China Sea, it cuts through native jungle and offers significant elevation changes. Signature holes include the seventh, where the ocean opens up to the player, and the eighth, whose green is surrounded by sea views on three sides. The ninth hole presents a rocky outcrop tee-off challenge.
The 9-hole Forest Course offers a par 36 layout spanning 2,987 meters from the Black Tees, with a Course/Slope rating of 73.2/131. It is characterized by sprawling grounds, avenues of trees, and serene lake views, with various bunkers and fairways designed to test a golfer's mettle.
Ria Bintan Golf Club has hosted regional events such as the annual Ria Bintan Open. The course is recognized for its environmental stewardship, having been the first in Indonesia to receive the Certified Audubon International Classic and Cooperative Sanctuary certification in 2009. The facility includes a driving range, pro shop, and restaurant, and maintains strict etiquette and dress codes for its players.
