Bide-A-Wee is an 18-hole, par 72 municipal daily fee course located in Portsmouth, Virginia. The course was conceived by PGA professional Chandler Harper in the early 1950s, and he hired Fred Findlay to build the new course. It was completely renovated and reopened in 1999 as a Curtis Strange signature course, with an $8 million renovation that earned recognition from national golf press. The redesign was by Tom Clark of Ault, Clark & Associates in collaboration with Curtis Strange.

The course features bent grass greens, narrow and challenging fairways lined with majestic pines, and picturesque lakes and ponds throughout. The original layout featured extremely narrow and small greens that fell off severely on the sides; greens were completely rebuilt and enlarged to U.S.G.A. specifications. The redesigned course provides a good mix of holes with varying difficulty levels, avoiding consecutive tough holes.

Bide-a-Wee hosted the Virginia State Open four times as well as the World Senior Championships six times. It was the home course for two-time US Open champion Curtis Strange during his formative golfing years. The course operates as a daily-fee public facility in the Tidewater area and remains open year-round.
