Located in west Ireland near Galway, Bearna Golf Club is an 18-hole course built on 250 acres of Connemara moorland, measuring approximately 6,900 yards. Designed by renowned course architect R.J. 'Bobby' Browne and constructed beginning in October 1991, the course was carved from granite rock, bog, gorse and heather shaped by glacial movement.

Positioned halfway between Bearna and Moycullen in Corboley, the course commands spectacular views of Galway Bay, the Burren, and the Aran Islands. The design features generously proportioned fairways, elevated tee boxes and demanding carries, with water hazards affecting 13 holes. Large greens with subtle borrows challenge golfers of all abilities.

The course is characterized by imaginative hole names based on local environmental, historical and cultural characteristics, praised by Today's Golfer as exceptionally creative. The final four holes provide a notable finishing sequence. Kevin Markham's guidebook 'Hooked' rates it as the best course in the area, reflecting its integration of natural landscape features with strategic golf design.
