Banshu Toyo Golf Club, also known as Onotoyo Golf Club, is a championship 18-hole course located in Ono City, Hyogo Prefecture, Japan. Designed by renowned architect Takeshi Ueda, the course was completed in 1971 and has established itself as a significant venue for professional golf in the region. The layout is set within a natural landscape that emphasizes the changing seasons, featuring cherry blossoms and azaleas in spring, vibrant summer foliage, and autumn maples, creating a distinct visual character for each hole. The course is recognized for its challenging layout that demands precision in shot-making, offering varied scenery and strategic demands across its 18 holes. It has hosted numerous high-profile tournaments, including the Japan Professional Golf Championship in 2011, which was held as the Nissin Cup Noodles Cup. The club has also served as the venue for the Panasonic Open Golf Championship in 2022 and 2023, as well as the Kansai Open Golf Championship in 2018 and the JGTO Challenge Tournament in 2014. In addition to its major tournament history, the course has hosted the Nojiku Open Championship in 2009 and various JGTO Qualifying Tournaments and PGA professional tests. The facility continues to maintain its status as a premier competitive venue, with the 2028 Japan Senior Open Golf Championship scheduled to take place at the club. The combination of Ueda’s design and the well-maintained conditions has allowed the course to remain a staple on the Japanese golf calendar for over five decades.
