Ayutthaya Golf Club is an 18-hole, par-72 course located in Ayutthaya, Thailand, situated just off the main highway and approximately a 45-minute drive from Bangkok. The course was designed by former Thai national team golfer Arthornan Yomjinda and opened in February 2009. The layout was created by transforming former rice fields into a challenging golf course in just one and a half years. The total distance from the gold tees is 7,095 yards, while the championship tees extend the length to 7,100 yards. The terrain is characterized by undulating fairways with varying levels of elevation, creating a visually distinct landscape for each hole. The greens are notably large but feature significant slopes and undulations, which can make putting difficult and lead to three-putts for unwary players. The course is designed to be challenging from the first tee to the eighteenth, with each hole offering a unique layout that tests the golfer's skills. The 13th hole is widely regarded as the most difficult on the course. This par-4 measures 493 yards from the championship tees and 451 yards from the regular tees. The fairway is notably narrow, and the hole runs parallel to a railway line, adding a unique environmental element to the challenge. The 18th hole, a par-5, is another notable feature. Measuring 493 yards from the championship tees, it is not particularly long but rewards distance off the tee, offering a chance for a two-putt birdie if the approach is successful. The club is managed by Piroj Chaimatthamphong, chairman of Piroj Equipment Co., Ltd. The facility includes a clubhouse with locker rooms, a pro shop, and a restaurant capable of hosting large events. The course is accessible via several major routes, including the Phahonyothin Road and the Udonrataya Expressway, making it a convenient destination for golfers traveling from the capital.
