Avalon Golf & Country Club is an 18-hole course in Lenoir City, Tennessee, featuring 6,764 yards from the longest tees with a par of 72, designed by Joseph L. Lee and opened in 1997. The course occupies 166 acres nestled at the foot of the Smoky Mountains, located 20 minutes from downtown Knoxville and 7 minutes from The Turkey Creek Shopping Center. The course is characterized by significant elevation changes, varying terrain, and pronounced slopes and elevations in the greens, which earned it a "4-Star" rating from Golf Digest. Golf Advisor recognized Avalon as one of the "Top 25 Most Improved Golf Courses" in 2015. The course has a rating of 72.2 with a slope rating of 131. The greens were recently renovated with Primo Zoysia grass, making Avalon the only club in Tennessee with this grass type.
