Augusta Municipal Golf Course, known locally as "The Patch," is a historic public golf facility opened in 1928 that has served as a community gathering place for golf enthusiasts. Currently undergoing a comprehensive revitalization, the course is set to reopen in April 2026 with significant enhancements.
The redesigned property will feature an 18-hole championship course designed by renowned architects Tom Fazio and Beau Welling, offering a modern public golf experience. Additionally, a new 9-hole short course called "The Loop at The Patch" has been designed by Tiger Woods and TGR Design, providing accessible play for golfers of varying skill levels.
This renovation project represents a partnership between Masters Tournament Charities, Augusta Technical College, and The First Tee of Augusta, aimed at preserving the historic venue while establishing it as a best-in-class public golf destination. The 16-month renovation reflects a commitment to modernizing the facility while maintaining its significance as an Augusta institution. The course will serve diverse players through its championship layout and short course format, supporting both recreational play and instructional programs.
