The Ashbury Golf Resort is the UK's largest golf facility, ranked as the 9th largest in the world, located at the foothills of Dartmoor National Park near Okehampton, Devon. The complex features five 18-hole courses—Kigbeare (par 72, 6,528 yards), Pines (par 72, 6,400 yards), Beeches (par 68, 5,671 yards), Oakwood (par 68, 5,502 yards), and Willows (par 54)—plus an 18-hole par-3 course and a 9-hole academy course. Each course is thoughtfully designed using natural landscape features across 500 acres of Devon countryside with panoramic views of Dartmoor.
The Kigbeare course, the longest and flagship layout, features tree-lined fairways, large undulating greens, and well-placed hazards, with the signature par-3 3rd hole elevated approximately 50 feet above the green. The Beeches is considered the most picturesque, featuring dramatic mounding and elevation changes, particularly a triple-tier fairway at the 3rd hole and the scenic par-3 12th with views across Dartmoor. The Pines, the second-longest course, offers contrasting challenges with forgiving front nine fairways and precision-demanding back nine tree-lined holes.
The facility operates as a full golf resort with hotel accommodation, extensive leisure facilities, and a fleet of over 450 buggies on tarmac roads. The courses are available to residents and visitors year-round, with tournaments and amateur open events periodically hosted at the resort.
