Hurdwick Golf Club is an 18-hole parkland course located 2 miles north of Tavistock in Devon, England. The course spans 63 acres of well-drained parkland and was designed by Hawtree Ltd in 1989. It measures 5,335 yards with a par of 69, offering a deceptively challenging layout that tests golfers of all abilities. The course features strategically placed trees, natural water hazards, and a unique quarry feature. The opening holes include two par-3s and a 595-yard par-5, followed by demanding par-4s that require accurate driving.
Set against the picturesque Devon countryside, the course offers stunning 360-degree views over Dartmoor, Bodmin, and surrounding moors. The back nine presents particularly scenic vistas, with the downhill 12th and 14th holes being relatively accessible, while the 15th hole presents a significant challenge with out-of-bounds left and encroaching trees right. The closing holes, particularly the 18th at 230 yards, provide a demanding finale to the round.
The course welcomes visitors and members in a relaxed atmosphere, with a clubhouse offering bar facilities and catering. Its approachable length and picturesque setting make it suitable for players seeking an alternative to the more exclusive or difficult courses in the region.
