Ashbourne Private Golf Course is a 9-hole facility located in Ashbourne, South Australia, on the Fleurieu Peninsula. Established in the late 1920s as a grass green course, it has remained under family ownership for nearly a century. The course measures 2,422 meters par 33 for the outward nine and 2,396 meters par 33 for the inward nine when played over 18 holes, featuring four par 3s ranging from 131-175 meters, four par 4s from 294-400 meters, and a short 435-meter par 5.
The course is characterized by natural rye and common couch grass fairways alongside bent grass greens with no bunkers. The nine greens are mostly 15 meters long and bordered by mature pine and gum trees that provide both aesthetic appeal and significant playing challenge. The fairways are generally lush and well-maintained, while the greens contain some poa that can affect playing speeds. With only two alternate tee mounds available for 18-hole play, the course maintains a consistent par throughout.
Located on private land just outside of town on the road to Strathalbyn, the course offers gentle and undulating terrain in a peaceful rural setting away from public view. The facility includes clubhouse amenities and is positioned on the edge of South Australia's Fleurieu Peninsula.
