The Arnold Palmer Private Course opened in 1986 as the second of five championship courses at PGA WEST. The course features 18 holes with a par of 72 and measures 6,950 yards. The course was designed by Arnold Palmer, Ed Seay, and Harrison Minchew Golf Course Architecture. The course is set at the base of the picturesque Santa Rosa Mountains. It has 30 acres of lakes and streams, several elevated tees and plenty of large trees dotting the rolling terrain. The course rating is 74.0 with a slope rating of 143.
The finishing stretch is particularly appealing with five holes sculpted along the rugged mountains, including a par 3 with virtually no room for error at the 15th, a short par 4 requiring players to cross a canal twice at the 16th, another short par 3 at the 17th, and a spectacular risk-reward par 5 around a lake as the finishing hole. The course hosted the PGA Tour's Humana Challenge from 1988-2015, formerly known as the Bob Hope Classic, and was the site of David Duval's 1999 win with a final round, course record 59.
