Armidale Golf Club

Armidale Golf Club is an 18-hole championship course located on the western boundary of Armidale, New South Wales, set among native and exotic trees. The course plays to par 72 from the men's tees (black: 6,035 metres, rated 72 slope 127; white: 5,836 metres, rated 70 slope 121) and par 73 from the ladies' tees (5,480 metres, rated 74 slope 130).

A defining characteristic is Armidale's elevation at nearly 1,000 metres above sea level—Australia's highest city—which allows the ball to travel further in clear conditions, typically requiring one or two clubs less than coastal courses. The layout features challenging topography with significant elevation changes, sloping fairways, and two-tiered greens throughout. Notable design elements include doglegs, strategic water hazards, out-of-bounds fencing, and two par-3s of particular difficulty. The course is characterized by dramatic slopes, particularly on holes 9 and 10, which present blind uphill approaches requiring precise club selection. The terrain changes seasonally, with autumn noted for vibrant colours. The facility offers a welcoming environment for members and visitors within a serene natural setting.
