Amberwood Golf Course (The Villages) ☆ Follow

Built in 2003, Amberwood epitomizes what pristine central Florida was like 100 years ago. The course was designed by Clifton, Ezell & Clifton. Amberwood is a par 28 nine-hole course with yardage ranging from 1163 to 1710 yards depending on where you tee it up. Lined by majestic oaks, Amberwood is a challenge—especially from the back tees—requiring the use of long irons or perhaps a wood on some holes to get onto the green in regulation.

The signature par 4 sixth hole runs alongside a scenic wetland nature preserve with a bunker on the left side of the fairway and requires a strong second shot to reach in two. The par three seventh hole is the toughest on the course at 190 yards from the back tees. All three final holes require the tee shot to carry over water and hold sloped greens, with accurate putting key to making par as you come down the home stretch.

Amberwood is a perennial favorite of Villages residents. The course provides a challenging yet manageable experience for golfers of varying skill levels within The Villages' executive golf trail system.
