Avalon Golf Club is a classic 9-hole public golf course on the Northern Beaches of Sydney and is the only course on the peninsula available from dawn to dusk. The layout was designed by Dan Soutar and opened for play in October 1926. The course features undulating challenging fairways amongst lovely shady trees. The course is a test for all skill levels, allowing new golfers room to enjoy the game without being penalized, while offering experienced golfers a wonderful challenge requiring accurate tee shots and wedge play.

The signature hole presents itself with a wonderful tee shot through a narrow shoot of trees, with a severe slope from right to left, followed by a short or mid iron to a flat green. Notable features include a triplet of consecutive uphill par 3 holes, each presenting their own unique challenge. Facilities include a two-storey clubhouse comprising a café, pro-shop, and large function room, conveniently located within a five-minute walk to the town centre and a short walk to Avalon Beach.
