Located in Ushinoki-cho, Kanuma, Tochigi Prefecture, Kanuma 72 Country Club is a 45-hole facility set on a gentle hillside overlooking the Kanto Plain. Opened in July 1975 and designed by Ichikawa Soko Dozai, the course is divided into three distinct 18-hole layouts: the Tsukuba Course, the Nantai Course, and the Fuji Course. The property sits at a convenient distance from the Kanuma and Toga interchanges, offering panoramic views of the surrounding agricultural plains from its elevated position. The Nantai Course is characterized by moderate undulations and strategic layouts that challenge golfers with its varied terrain. While the fairways are generally forgiving, certain holes, such as the first par-4, present a downhill approach to a green that does not hold the ball well, requiring precise distance control. The Fuji Course provides a separate, flat layout that is generally considered accessible to beginners. Despite its flat nature, the greens on the Fuji Course feature significant undulation and contouring, ensuring that putting remains a test of skill. The holes here often feature gentle doglegs and downhill tee shots, creating a layout that is described as serviceable for birdie hunting while maintaining an aesthetic appeal. The facility is managed by Tohoku Jukan Development Co., Ltd., and includes a 300-yard driving range with 17 bays. The club is affiliated with both the Japan Golf Association (JGA) and the Korea Golf Association (KGA).
