Taka Golf Club is a 18-hole, par-72 course located in Kuroh, Utsunomiya, Tochigi Prefecture, Japan. Designed by Takeshi Sato and opened in September 1981, the facility is set within a 990,000-square-meter hilly, forested landscape. The course layout is characterized by a demanding front nine that prioritizes distance, followed by a back nine that emphasizes accuracy and precision. The total yardage from the championship tees measures 6,864 yards, with the front nine spanning 3,455 yards and the back nine covering 3,409 yards. The front nine is described as a long-course center where players can utilize powerful drives. The first hole presents a 547-yard par-5 that requires a precise tee shot avoiding the right-side penalty area. The fifth hole is a 599-yard par-5 featuring a gentle downhill slope, with players advised to aim for the right edge of a Himalayan cedar tree visible in the center of the fairway. The sixth hole offers a 377-yard uphill par-4, where the green slopes from right to left, requiring careful approach shots to avoid the out-of-bounds marker on the right. The back nine shifts focus to strategic play. The tenth hole is a 520-yard par-5 with a right-sloping landing area, where the green features significant undulation that penalizes aggressive approaches from the rear. The eighteenth hole serves as a challenging 548-yard par-5 finish, featuring a gentle right dogleg. Players must navigate a left-sloping landing area, often targeting a spot known as "pension slope" on the right side of the fairway, before facing a slightly uphill approach to a right-tilted green. The course includes specific signature holes and notable features for scoring. The par-3 holes at the fourth, seventh, twelfth, and fifteenth are highlighted as key distance challenges, with the sixth and eleventh holes recommended for driving distance contests. Scoring opportunities are identified at the fourth, seventh, twelfth, and fifteenth holes, with the seventh and twelfth being particularly recommended for birdie attempts. The course is JGA certified and offers multiple tee sets, including championship, regular, and backward tees, to accommodate varying skill levels.
