The Chicken Run is a recurring 9-hole golf competition held at Bicheno Golf Club on Fridays (and Wednesdays) at 11:30 am. The event is open to both members and visitors (non-members). Entry fees are $5.00 for members and $10.00 for non-members. Players must hold a Golf Australia CONNECT handicap to participate in club competitions. The course is a 9-hole, 18-tee layout with irrigation. Free pull buggies are available, and club hire is an option. Visitor green fees are $30 per day or $100 per week.

The Bicheno Golf Club is located on the sunny east coast of Tasmania about 5km north of the town of Bicheno. The course consists of 9 holes and 18 tees with fully irrigated course and greens to provide excellent playing conditions all year round. The par of the course is 71. Alf Toogood, a professional coach based at Kingston golf course, was hired to design the Bicheno course. The golf club was built in 1968. The course is open seven days a week and has a fully equipped clubhouse. The course offers a relaxing yet challenging layout surrounded by stunning Tasmanian landscapes, perfect for players of all skill levels. The club hosts regular competitions, including Saturday mixed competitions open to members and visitors, and Wednesday and Friday 9-hole Chicken Runs open to all. The fully irrigated condition year-round has made Bicheno recognized as one of the finest 9-hole courses in Tasmania.
