The Bill Shankland Memorial Trophy is a 36-hole amateur medal competition played over two days (Thursday 6th and Friday 7th May 2027) at Parkstone Golf Club. Open to male golfers aged 55 years or more on the event date. Players must belong to a golf club and hold a Handicap Index of 4.0 or lower. Where entries exceed 81, a handicap ballot will be conducted, with the Organising Committee reserving the right to include 6 Parkstone members in the final start sheet. All entrants require a minimum of 20 scores on their handicap record, including 10 competition rounds. A 95% handicap allowance is applied. Entry fee is £TBC for visitors and £TBC for Parkstone members. Practice rounds are available for £TBC per person on Wednesday 5th May between 14:00-15:50 for players on the start sheet. Prizes are vouchers redeemable at any PGA Shop. In the event of a tie, a stroke-play play-off over holes 1, 2 and 18 is used, followed by sudden death if still tied, with other tied places decided on count back. Sign-ups open on 25th March 2027 at 09:00 and close on 22nd April 2027.

Parkstone Golf Club, located between Bournemouth and Poole on Dorset's South Coast, is ranked in the top 100 golf courses in Great Britain and Ireland by both Golf Monthly and Golf World magazines. Founded in 1909 by Lord Wimborne, the course has established itself as one of the finest on the South Coast, famously described by 1938 Open Championship winner Reg Whitcombe as "There Is No Better Place." The club is situated approximately one mile from the nearest train station and nine miles from the nearest airport, making it easily accessible.
