Saturday Club Day is a regular weekly competition held at Ellesmere Golf Club on Saturday mornings. Tee-off is at 12:00 noon with sign-in required by 11:30am. Match groups are determined by a name tag draw at 11:45am, and tee positions are allocated by the starter. The competition entry fee is $6 for members. Visitors from other clubs are welcome with an entry fee of $5, which includes entry in the twos competition. Visitors are not eligible to enter the birdies/nett eagles competition. In addition, visitors are charged half of the current green fee. Cards need to be returned by 4:30pm to be in the day's competition. The competition format and scoring method vary throughout the year, with formats including stableford, strokeplay, and nett aggregate competitions held on different Saturdays.

The course layout consists of a front nine totalling par 36 and a back nine also at par 36. The front nine features a mix of par-3s, par-4s, and two par-5s, with distances from the Blue tees ranging from 152 to 466 metres. The back nine similarly balances hole variety, including challenging par-5s at holes 15 and 18. The course presents moderate difficulty across the standard tees, with stroke indexes distributed to provide strategic challenge throughout both nines. The variety of tee positions allows the course to be playable for golfers across skill levels while maintaining competitive challenge for more experienced players.
